JOHN W. WHITEHEAD: “Come Home, America — Stop Policing the Globe and Put an End to ‘Endless Wars'”

Ascension Avatar

“Let us resolve that never again will we send the precious young blood of this country to die trying to prop up a corrupt military dictatorship abroad. This is also the time to turn away from excessive preoccupation overseas to the rebuilding of our own nation. America must be restored to a proper role in the world. But we can do that only through the recovery of confidence in ourselves…. together we will call America home to the ideals that nourished us from the beginning. From secrecy and deception in high places; come home, America. From military spending so wasteful that it weakens our nation; come home, America.”

—George S. McGovern, former Senator and presidential candidate

I agree wholeheartedly with George S. McGovern, a former Senator and presidential candidate who opposed the Vietnam War, about one thing: I’m sick of old men dreaming up wars for young men to die…

AN AMERICAN RESOLUTION ~ John W. Whitehead on “How to Nullify Government Tyranny and Abuse In 2020”

Ascension Avatar

“The people have the power, all we have to do is awaken that power in the people. The people are unaware. They’re not educated to realize that they have power. The system is so geared that everyone believes the government will fix everything. We are the government.”

—John Lennon

Twenty years into the 21st century, and what do we have to show for it?

Government corruption, tyranny and abuse have propelled us at warp speed towards a full-blown police state in which egregious surveillance, roadside strip searches, police shootings of unarmed citizens, censorship, retaliatory arrests, the criminalization of lawful activities, warmongering, indefinite detentions, SWAT team raids, asset forfeiture, police brutality, profit-driven prisons, and pay-to-play politicians have become the new normal.

That’s what the First Amendment is supposed to be about.

Yet through a series of carefully crafted legislative steps and politically expedient court rulings, government officials have managed to disembowel this fundamental freedom, rendering it with little more meaning than the right to file a lawsuit against government officials.

In the process, government officials have succeeded in insulating themselves from their constituents, making it increasingly difficult for average Americans to make themselves seen or heard by those who most need to hear what “we the…

ISAAC DAVIS: “A Report Card For Donald Trump”

Circle of the Dolphins

Political candidates have a long history of making promises they don’t keep. It’s an American tradition as old as apple pie and white picket fences, and every four years presidential candidates turn up the BS and Americans willingly deceive themselves and buy into more empty promises.

Donald Trump is perhaps the most hated president in modern history, and the most polarizing, and while those who understand how the political system works never believed for a minute that he would be able to deliver on his campaign promises, the alternative and independent press still supported him. Almost two years into his presidency, we now know that he is more or less just like all the rest, marching to the tune of deep state elements and corporate powers that haunt the American political system.

For the record, here is a list of Trump’s accomplishments, or non-accomplishments, as they relate to a number…
